Becky, Treatment Team Leader

I have always had an animal in my life.  As a teen, I worked with Wildlife Rescue and we would walk around searching for wonded animals after hurricanes and major storms.  Animals play a big role in my life and I will always be there for them.

A proud mother of three boys, I also have a long list of furries in my family.  My adorable Corgi (Bullet) who has epilepsy; my cats (Marvin, Theo, Gabe, Kit & Speedy); a ferret (Drizzit): a few snakes; and my two senior dachshunds, one of whom is blind and the other deaf.

In addition to my Associate's in Business Management, I am currently pursuing my goal of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

When not playing with my babies, I enjoy horseback riding, seeing the latest movie, traveling, baking, and doing martial arts.  I am always looking forward to the future to see what life brings me next!

Amy, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hello!  After graduating from Northern Virginia Community College in 2007, and sitting for the National Boards I qualified for my Veterinary Technician License.

A lifelong animal lover, i have been working in small animal practice since 2003 and joined Animal Medical of Chesapeake in 2009.  I have since expanded my passion to help others by obtaining my RN degree and can also be found taking care of two-legged patients at Chesapeake General Hospital.  But I so enjoy my 4-legged patients, that I have also been fortunate to continue my relationship with Animal Medical.

Tonya, Veterinary Technician

Hey there!  After graduating high school from a small town in Texas, I attended a school dedicated solely to the training of Licensed Veterinary Technicians - the Vet Tech Institute of Houston in, where else?  Houston Texas!

After graduating in December, and being a new Navy Wife, I moved here to Virginia with my only fur baby, Rico, my tuxedo kitty (who isn't a baby anymore) to be with my husband and join a team full of amazing people.

At the moment my free time includes studying for boards, getting distracted by my furbaby, exploring the many fun attractions Virginia offers, and spending time with my friends whom I consider my family away from home.

Michelle, Veterinary Assistant

Hello!  After working with animals for the past 8 years, I feel blessed to continue in this field.  As a recent transplant to Virginia, I feel very fortunate to have had to opportunity to explore many different aspects of the field.

I enjoy working with animals of all kinds (& their humans) - I've learned so much over the years and look forward to continue learning so much more!

Desiree, Veterinary Assistant

Hello!  I love working with animals and meeting new people!

Jaycie, Veterinary Technician

Hi there!  I'm looking forward to meeting you and your furry family members!

Janette, Veterinary Assistant

Hi there! My name is Janette. Over the past year I have enjoyed working with AMC clients and their furry family members. Animals have been my passion for 21 years. In 2016, my daughter, Carissa and 3 year old grandson, Aiden are what brought me here to Virginia from California. My best friend is my 8 year old pitbull Xerxes, who was born with Mega-Esophagus. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with family, new friends, camping, taking Xerxes to the beach, and listening to music. I look forward to providing the best care for you and your furry family.

Our Client Service Team:

Animal Medical of Chesapeake - Melissa is a Client Care Coordinator at 921 Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake, Va 23320

Melissa, Client Care Coordinator/Veterinary Assistant

Hello! My name is Melissa. A Hampton Roads native, I graduated from Great Bridge High; then completed my Associates Degree at TCC.  My wonderful Golden Retriever (Mischief) passed in 2015 and he will forever stay in my heart. Currently, my heart is claimed by my black kitty named Miso, who initially lived here at the hospital. Miso is very spoiled and definitely worth everything!  When not working or in school, I'm typically a homebody with my nose in a book, cuddling with Miso while binge watching movies, or out and about with my camera. I always enjoy working here at AMC because spending time with our furry friends is always rewarding.  Caring for patients and seeing clients happy is the best feeling you could have.

Animal Medical Clinic of Chesapeake - Katie Adams is Client Care Coordinator at 921 Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake, Va 23320

Katie, Senior Client Care Coordinator

"Hello, I'm Katie. I am a proud parent to a grown daughter, 4 dogs, 4 cats, 3 birds.

As a Navy wife of 20+ years ago, I transferred to many different places, picking up new life-long friends along the way. Each has touched my heart and I knew they would fit perfectly into my home. I am known to be an easy mark for a cat in a tuxedo - so you may hear me speak of one of my many black and white cats. Unfortunately, the Inn and my bed are currently full and I am banned from going to any pet rescue shelters by concerned family members!  Maybe when I find that winning lottery ticket, my dreams of filling my home with more 4-legged companions will come true!

Once planted in Chesapeake, I joined Animal Medical 14 years ago and knew it was a great fit for me. Adding knowledge of veterinary care to my years of customer service has given me tools to make for a memorable asset to our clients and my personal pets. I am always grateful to those who open their homes and hearts to the furry babies that need them the most."

Lisa, Client Care Coordinator

Lisa, Client Care Coordinator

Hi, my name is Lisa.  I am returning to work after being home with my family for 15 years.  I grew up in Virginia Beach & moved to Chesapeake 25 years ago.  My husband and I have 2 boys, Connor and Jacob, still at home with us.  Our daughter, Kaila, is all grown up now and has blessed us with a grandson named Aiden, and expecting a baby girl in 2019, to be named Everleigh Grace.  I only have one furbaby still with me - a boxer named Cooper.  I am so grateful and excited to be here at AMC & can't wait to meet all our cute little patients and their people!
