Animal Medical of Chesapeake - Tosha, Treatment Team Leader at 921 Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake, Va 23320

Becky, Treatment Team Leader

I have always had an animal in my life.  As a teen, I worked with Wildlife Rescue and we would walk around searching for wounded animals after hurricanes and major storms.  Animals play a big role in my life and I will always be there for them.

A proud mother of three boys, I also have a long list of furries in my family.  My adorable Corgi (Bullet) who has epilepsy; my cats (Marvin, Theo, Gabe, Kit & Speedy); a ferret (Drizzit): a few snakes; and my two senior dachshunds, one of whom is blind and the other deaf.

In addition to my Associate's in Business Management, I am currently pursuing my goal of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

When not playing with my babies, I enjoy horseback riding, seeing the latest movie, traveling, baking, and doing martial arts.  I am always looking forward to the future to see what life brings me next!

Tonya, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hey there!  After graduating high school from a small town in Texas, I attended a school dedicated solely to the training of Licensed Veterinary Technicians - the Vet Tech Institute of Houston in, where else?  Houston Texas!

After graduating in December, and being a new Navy Wife, I moved here to Virginia with my only fur baby, Rico, my tuxedo kitty (who isn't a baby anymore) to be with my husband and join a team full of amazing people.

At the moment my free time includes getting distracted by my furbaby, exploring the many fun attractions Virginia offers, and spending time with my friends whom I consider my family away from home.

Michelle, Veterinary Assistant

Hello!  After working with animals for the past 8 years, I feel blessed to continue in this field.  As a recent transplant to Virginia, I feel very fortunate to have had to opportunity to explore many different aspects of the field.

I enjoy working with animals of all kinds (& their humans) - I've learned so much over the years and look forward to continue learning so much more!

Hello!  I'm one of those rare Chesapeake natives!  And I've been lucky enough to work with animals for several years now.  I love to see everyone's furry family members and help them in any way I can!

Desiree and RooDesiree, Veterinary Assistant

Hello There!!

I’m Desiree, I’m from Elizabeth, New Jersey born in Big Apple NYC. I’ve always had a passion for helping those in need. I have a weakness for the cute puppy eyes, adorable kitten purrs, and even lizard kisses. I’ve been working in the animal field for about 7 years. I have a beautiful fluffy baby girl named Mia Belle, she’s a Maltese who’s extremely spoiled and of course, bossy.

I’m currently going to school for Phlebotomy and Sonography at Tidewater Community College. I recently moved here in December of 2018, so I'm currently learning the ways of living in Virginia. I’m a car enthusiast; I enjoy going to shows, races, and working on my car when I’m not at work. I also enjoy spending time with my beautiful 7 nieces and nephews (BIG FAMILY! I know) and going for walks on the beach with Mia Belle.  I will be welcoming my daughter Alani Sophia in May, 2020 and I cannot wait for the world to meet her.

Hello,  I'm the Cat in Charge of everyone and everything that happens at Animal Medical.  My most critical job is to ensure that we uphold the highest standards of medicine and compassionate care.  Because of my influence we have always been not just a Cat Friendly Practice; but also a Pet and People Friendly Practice.

You're welcome.

Our Client Service Team:

Animal Medical of Chesapeake - Melissa is a Client Care Coordinator at 921 Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake, Va 23320

Melissa, Client and Patient Care Manager

Hello! My name is Melissa. I'm a Hampton Roads native & graduated from Great Bridge High; then completed my Associates Degree at TCC.  My wonderful Golden Retriever (Mischief) passed in 2015 and he will forever stay in my heart. Currently, my heart is claimed by my black kitty named Miso, who initially lived here at the hospital. Miso is very spoiled and definitely worth everything!  When not working or in school, I'm typically a homebody with my nose in a book, cuddling with Miso while binge watching movies, or out and about with my camera. I always enjoy working here at AMC because spending time with our furry friends is always rewarding.  Caring for patients and seeing clients happy is the best feeling you could have.

Lisa,  Client Care Coordinator

"Hi, my name is Lisa and I'm returning to work after being home with my family for 15 years.

After growing up in Virginia Beach, we moved to Chesapeake 25 years ago.  My husband and I have 2 boys, Conor and Jacob, still at home with us.  Our daughter, Kaila, is all grown up now and has blessed us with 2 wonderful grandchildren - Aiden and Everleigh Grace.  We only have one fur-baby still with us, a boxer named Cooper.

I am so grateful and excited to be here at AMC & enjoy seeing all our cute little patients and their people!

Lisa, Client Care Coordinator

Samantha, Client Care Coordinator

Hi! My name is Sam, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!).  I have received my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences, and I am currently working towards getting my veterinary technician license through PennFoster.  I ultimately want to become an LVT and become a massage therapist for animals both big and small!

When I’m not working or studying, I’m out and about doing agility and luring training with my Dutch Shepherd, Kimber.  I also love to read and knit in my free time when my fur-baby finally decides to take a nap!

I love seeing our clients at AMC; caring for both patients and clients is such a rewarding experience! I have had a lifelong passion for working with animals and look forward to helping you and your furry family members!
